How to rename images.

  • I have uploaded images directly into pages on my site. They are not in my library. I want to change the name of individual images. How can I do this?

    Hey sradom!

    It’s strange that your images aren’t displaying in the media library. Are they displaying okay on the front-end of your site? Have you tried logging into your site from cPanel or via FTP to see if the images are in the “images” folder in the backend of your site?

    I usually drag and drop images into the media library directly but if you are trying to add image already uploaded then give this plugin a try.

    Yes it is dated but I believe it still works. That will let you add media that has already been uploaded outside of WordPress.
