How to remove/hide the thumbnails (for featured images) on the homepage?

Hi there,

I have found some exchanges here on the forum that were dealing with removing the feature images on a single post page.

But what about the thumbnails (place holders) that go with every post on the homepage?
Is there any easy way to edit these out, too? (via a child theme… or right within the theme itself).
