How to Remove Uncategorized

  • Hi, i am totally new to wordpress and making an IT Business website. There are a few problems that i am facing.

    1. The Uncategorised folder keeps showing up on my pages and in every post. How do i remove that?

    2. As i am new please help me understand how do i prepare my home page as i think that the home button page can only be edited through the posts section and not through pages, which i am not able to do.

    3. Also, do you have any video tutorial showing how to make a website using this theme. If so, can you please provide me with the link for that.

    Please help me as i am totally new and have no knowledge of making a website forget using CSS.

    Hi,

    1. The default “Uncategorized” post category can’t be deleted, but you can rename it in “Posts > Categories”. You can create there your custom post categories as well.
    If you would like to completely get rid of displaying the categories on your website, then please insert the following custom CSS into “Appearance > Theme Options > Other Settings > Custom CSS”:

    #wrapper .post-info {display: none !important;}

    2. The home button in the header menu always links to the homepage. If you would like to set a static page as your homepage, you can do so in “Settings > Reading > Front page displays”.

    3. Unfortunately, there is no video tutorial, but you can look at the theme documentation where are described all the theme features.
