Yes, I have the same problem

I would like to remove the word home from the static frontpage.

I do not think WPyogi’s suggestion solves the issue.

    Can someone please help.

    Kind Regards
    Scott

I also have the problem. The word home is actually at the bottom of the page when in Web View but not in backend. I have searched high and low for the answer. I have tried recreating the page but to now avail. It is the only page that behaves like this.
I know how to change the title, but not get rid of the word at the bottom of the page.

I have finally worked it out!!!!
I had the static page set up in two sections of the site.
    1. Settings – Reading – static page set up here as home page.
    2. Theme Options – Homepage settings – Open Homepage/Front Page settings – Click here to set Static home page. which I had done as well.

So, the answer is to go back to 1. settings – reading – and click your latest posts as home page.
This will make the word HOME go from the bottom of the home page.
Now it looks the way it was meant to be.
Just be careful of setting things up in two areas. That’s what I have learnt.

You are a star, your suggestion worked perfectly.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards

    Scott,
I just lost my home page, what I did worked for a while, then I lost the home page and had to do it all again.
I don’t think that what I said is the correct answer. hmmm. Where to now? I think it must have been something that I did when I started to site.

    Hi Glenda

I think you suggestion is correct.

You may just need to re-assign the correct home page in your menu system, ie make Home in the menu link to the actual Home page.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
Yes you are right, it did take a while to work it out, but this is what I did for those who have the same problem.
Appearance – Menus – Main menu or top Navigation.
click on the drop down box and type under the Navigation Label the name to the page that it needs to be directed to. That Worked.
When I look at the label now on the menu, it currently says Home and the original name is below that and it is working fine.
    Thanks
