• Hello,

I would like to remove the “publish” feature from wordpress. The reason I want to do that is because I want to use the system to simply edit/manage documents. Is there any way to do that?

    Thanks

  • By removing the “publish” button you would then lose the ability to update existing posts. If you wish to make the “publish” feature available to a select group of users then you might like to investigate a role manager/scoper type plugin.

    Just don’t publish?

If you don’t publish then why use wordpress?

Well he said he wants to just edit and manage documents. I’m not sure why anyone would want to use WordPress for that either but if that’s what he wants then he could just save everything to draft and not publish.

    Thanks for your response.

I personally prefer Google Docs, but this for someone else. Having the “publish” button there might confused them a bit so I’m trying to clean up the interface as much as possible.
