how to remove the navigation bar on a theme?

Be sure you are not looking in the header_plain.php.

Or in your css:

That way you can keep your header file intact in case you ever want to include the navigation.

I’m having the same problem. I wanted to add drop down menus to my site but was unable to find a plugin that would add Drop downs to my existing menu so I found the “dropdown menu” plugin but I can’t figure out how to get rid of the existing navigation menu.

I tried the CSS solution presented here but when I added the code, nothing happened. I was also unable to find the code above in the header.php file.

Any other solutions would be welcome? Thanks!

I have a similar problem. I wanted to have drop down menus but try as I might I just could not get them to work using the existing tabs generated in the new Svetlina theme. While it asks for the parent, and puts the child where it belongs in the sidebar in both pages and categories it will not make the tabs dropdowns. Any ideas how I would get those to work?

My first choice would have been to keep the theme bars but since I cannot get them to drop down I am going to plan B so I downloaded and activated the Pixio Multi-Level Navigation plugin. BUT now there are THREE bars! If I have to keep the Multi-Level Blue one all the way at the top I would like to hide or eliminate the one on the upper right above the banner phone number ad that reads HOME/About Us/Contact Us/Insurance. These are reflecting pages. But there should be a Mortgage Insurance page below Inusrances but it won’t drop down. The other navigation bar below that listing the categories is fine to just stay, as a matter of fact I like that there so customers do not miss anything. BUT I don’t need three!
