How to Remove the Footer text?

    I need to remove the following text from the footer.php; however I don’t see text:

    “Powered by WordPress – Atahualpa Theme by BytesForAll”

    I’m trying to just remove “This blog is Powered by WordPress” from the footer of the shopping_sales_and_deals_eve045 WP template. It looks like it’s all locked up because they don’t want me messing with their copyrighted/promo info., which I don’t care about. Does anyone have an idea of where I can go or what to do? Wanted to leave, trying to contact the site I got it from, as a last resort, but I did see language in functions.php regarding a “Footer Link Removal Key”? Sounds like I could use a locksmith. :^) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Anyone know how to remove the footer text in the “tribune” theme that says “Coded by…”?

    The tribune footer.php file seems to indicate the entire footer.php file must not be touched…or else…??
