• I just installed WordPress latest version and when I added an image in a page, it didn’t show in browser. But I can type direct URL of that image in browser and access it. Only problem is it is not displaying in that page.

Upon investigation I found out it is not displaying due to words “srcset” being added in HTML code. What is this and how can I remove/disable it?

  • srcset adds responsive images based on screen widths(Desktop, tablet, phone)

Here is a great tutorial on this with steps to disable it:

That said, it is likely a theme or img related plugin is not working well with srcset. Check with each of them first.

This is a clean WP install and I am not using any plugins. Looks like some bullshit feature to me because it should work out of the box without having to tinker with anything. But here it is not working and no idea why this is happening.

Well that is interesting. Can you please provide the URL of the site and a specific page with this issue? It’s much harder to help when going in blind.
