You can control what content types are included in the sitemap in the settings located in the SEO>Search Appearance area. To customize what types of pages or content are included in the sitemap you would need to perform the following steps:

      Login to WordPress
      Go to SEO>Search Appearance
Click on the appropriate tab to add or remove certain post types from the search results. Removing a post type from the search results will also remove them from the sitemap.
      Click ‘Save Changes.’

For a single page, you can set it to not be included in the sitemap by going to the edit screen for the page and on the advanced tab of the Yoast metabox setting the value for ‘Allow search engines to show this Post in search results?’ to ‘No’. This will remove the page from the sitemap and set it to ‘noindex.’

As I mentioned in my original post those aren’t pages on the site but they’re showing up in the sitemap anyway. So there is no page to set SEO settings on.

These are also not a custom post type.

If those posts were already deleted but they are still showing on your sitemap, try to clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider.

You may also try to disable/enable your sitemap (SEO > General > Features > XML Sitemap) after clearing your cache.

All caching was removed ages ago. Many times. I’ll try the disable/enable.

    Hi,

If the disable/enable fails to resolve the issue, we suggest a conflict check. That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Please Check for conflicts and then clear all your caching one last time.

If there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue?for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium?and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

    Closed. No further questions.
