How to remove description field in New post

This field is only used if it has any content on it. You can just ignore it and everything will work as it used to.

I understand it does nothing when left empty. But i already have a lot of fields in my New post window. Having one which i don’t need is a bit annoying ??

You can remove our entire metabox on the screen options tab on the top of the page.

Yeah, but that would hide Use this image field, which i need. I don’t want to sound nitpicking here. If it can’t be hidden, then ok. I will live with that ??

It’s not on our plans to provide an option to hide it.

You can easily enqueue your own CSS to do it.
