How to remove date from latest post widget in Conference theme

    Hi,

    I am totally new to WordPress

    I try to remove dates from latest posts widget on the homepage in Conference them using code that I found here such as
    .entry-date {
    display: none;
    }

    but it doesn’t work.
    I am also not sure if I put it correctly in the correct box. In Appearance I don’t have advanced settings, I have Editor (which I guess I should not touch) and also Custom Cascading Style Sheets in General settings (where I suppose I can put the code).

    Could you please help me? thank you in advance
