    Hi there, @rwayneshoaf,

Can you have a look at the toggle in your wp-admin dashboard instead?

You should be able to deactivate Blaze at this direct link:
    https://yoursiteURL/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/traffic

There should be a Blaze tab: https://cloudup.com/cDiYxyNb4J9

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks for the suggestions @erania-pinnera.

The URL you suggested (https://vampirellacomics.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/traffic) takes me to a page with the message “Cannot load Jetpack”.

When I try to navigate there from my wp-admin dashboard, the only options under Jetpack are “Activity Log”, “Backup”, “Search”, “Akismet Anti-spam”. Of those only “Activity Log” and “Akismet Anti-spam” display any actual info. The other two (“Backup”, “Search”) display only info for how to subscribe to those features.

I’m unable to get to a Blaze screen that looks like the one you provided a screenshot for.

I’m beginning to think I simply don’t have access because my WP subscription is the lowest available (Blogger).

It’s not a huge deal. I was just hoping to clean up the display some by eliminating the Blaze options.

    Hey @rwayneshoaf,

Thanks for sharing your site URL! If you have shared it earlier, I completely missed it, and I didn’t realise your site is hosted on WordPress.com!

That shuffles things around ?? As per this WordPress.com forum thread, there isn’t a user-facing setting to turn off Blaze completely. However, you can add some code to your site to disable Blaze. Please see the?Notes?section on?this page for turning off Blaze.

Once the snippet is added to your site, it will disable all Jetpack Blaze functionality.

    Hope that helps!

    Wow! Super fast response!

I had already checked out that thread and read about making changes to plug-ins or the functions.php file. However, as I’m only subscribed as a Blogger, I don’t believe I can do either of those things. I definitely can’t install or edit plugins. I also don’t think i can see the functions.php file.

    Hey @rwayneshoaf,

Uh, that’s a bummer then. I guess two things at this point:

    • if you don’t have any Blaze campaign active, that should not make any majori differences. If there is a system limitations in the way you can or cannot disable the feature, the fact that it’s not active with campaigns could be a silver lining.
    • I am no expert in WordPress.com sites, so I recommend you contact our colleagues at WordPress.com, who will better assist you. You can use that forum or the contact page if you can access it.

Again, thanks so much for your assistance on this. I’ll contact WP directly.
