How to remove arrows and navigation from images

I am trying to remove the arrows and “image 1 of 6” type text from the popup images that show with lightbox plus colorbox – I have tried unticking ‘arrow key navigation’ and also tried ticking ‘disable grouping’ (both in primary lightbox settings > interface) but neither of these seem to have worked.
How should this be done?
