    Hi,

I would like to remove the additional fields from default WP registration page.
    Is that possible?
    Thanks!

    Hi Chad,

    Thanks for coming back.
The thing is…all the additional fields are automatically added on the registration page, whilst I would like them to be able to modify these additional fields on their profile later on.
So, basically what I would like to do is remove from registration page while still showing the fields on the profile (separate) page.
    Thanks.

There are ways to do that, but it’s a multi-step process and is only supported in the WP-Members forms. It’s not supported in the default WP registration.

There is a new filter included in the upcoming 3.1.7 release that will allow you to do this fairly easily. But it is not finalized at this point – I may be making changes. You can follow the process via the blog (https://rocketgeek.com/blog) and read more about it here:

does this have anything to do with the “Users Screen” checkbox column on the fields page? i haven’t found any docs on that…

Actually, no, that’s entirely different. You’re right – it wasn’t mentioned in the docs, although I’ve added it now. It is mentioned/demonstrated in the video discussion of the fields tab.

Checking “User Screen” adds the field to the User Screen (Users > All Users).

    Hope that helps.

    oops…i checked

            Registration Date user_registered native
      	Active active
      	Registration IP wpmem_reg_ip

but while the columns appear, only date & ip are filled; active is blank in active users:-\

If you have all active users, the column will be blank. It only displays “No” in a row if the user is not active.

This question does come up every once in awhile – why doesn’t it display “Yes” for active. It’s based on the premise of ease of visually determining if there are pending users to be acted on (i.e. users needing to be activated). When the column is full of “Yes” and “No” (or any other terms, such as “active” & “inactive”), it takes more effort visually to determine if you have user action to take. It is far easier on your brain to look at the column and if there is an entry, it’s an inactive user.

So what you’ve got indicates it is working if all the users you are looking at are activated.

    Hope that helps clarify.

ease of visually determining if there are pending users to be acted on

ok, a valid design descision, but since null==false, shouldn’t the column then be titled “inactive”, with a simple X to flag attention, sorta inlining the documentation…
