  • Hi, what ad are you referring to? If you are referring to the notice that tells you to install and activate admin builder, just do what the notice says. That’s there to take advantage of the functionality of admin builder. If you don’t have it overtakes and activated, it does not work, so you need to do what the admin notice says. A list of plugins that use admin builder will be publicly available in about 2 weeks max, along with documentation and tutorials on how to use it to build plugins and themes.

I have the same question. I did not install the Admin Builder and I don’t know where it came from. I do not want to install it. There is not enough info about it. It started show up after I updated 6 plugins. None of the plugins are by the same author: rootabout. Seems very suspicious.
Again, I do not want this installed and I do not what this banner at the top.

    Hi,
Admin builder is a plugin used to create the backend functionality of one of the plugins you installed. Unless you install it that plugin will not work. What plugin did you install? Try and deactivate the installed plugins one by one and see which one deactivates the message. But I highly recommend installing it if you want your plugin to work

@aordway seriously, what plugins have you installed? I’m so curious!

which Ever plugin has a file named abExport.php in the root directory is the one! Please let me know!

Found the plugin. It is regenerate-thumbnails-advanced. I’ll disable that one.

That’s made by me, different account. You’ll notice the plugin does not have any options and does not work. Activate admin builder and the plugin and enjoy. It’s safe

Deactivating “reGenerate Thumbnails – advanced” took care of it.

Don’t deactivate it. They’re both made by me, they’re legit. I highly recommend activating both.

Why is there a stupid annoying bar that keeps coming up on my admin panel? I have removed the plugins I thought were causing it, but it didn’t work. What plugin is causing this, so that I can remove it, I DO NOT WANT IT!!!

regenerate thumbnails. Thanks aordway!!! Gone now!

@toolaxy-one: might I suggest that you change your approach and put the warning in the plugins that is requiring Admin Builder.
Or maybe add to the warning what plugin is requiring Admin Builder.

The way that this was done made me wonder “do I really need reGenerate Thumbnails?” Since I’m not changing my theme there is no need for it, so I’ll just turn it off.

I was really concerned that somehow my site had been hacked and that the hacker was trying to get me to install a plugin to give him access to it. Of course that was not the case, but I hope you can see my concern with the way this is being handled.

Thanks for building WP plugins. Without programmers like you WP wouldn’t be what it is.

    Hi @aordway,
Thank you very much for your feedback, really appreciate you took the time to give it. I will actually try my best to be careful on the wording used for the admin builder notification messages soon. Most likely in the next update of auto regenerate plugins and other plugins built with admin builder. I understand your concern and you have given me something important to think about. Thank you! And thank you for appreciating my work and efforts
    Cheers!

I have removed the regenerate thumbnails plugin, but the “install admin builder” notice still appears on my dashboard. Please help.

    Thanks.

What other plugins do you have? Why not install admin builder? You will have the functionality of whatever plugin requires it.
