How to register multiple `link` styles with TT3?

I’m learning to use the theme.json file of the TT3 theme. I was able to edit the styles in theme.json under styles.elements.link . However, this will affect every single and all <a> . What’s the proper way to specify more than one type of link style? For example, if an <a> appears within a <div class="carousel"> I want to apply styles that make the <a> look like a button with background-color: var(--wp-preset--color--contrast); color:var(--wp-preset--color--base); padding: 3rem; border-radius: 1000px;. All other times, I want the <a> to simply look like regular text, underline, no background and no rounded corners. How do I register this style for usage by block editors within the TT3 theme?
