Hi, I’m using this plugin and I have added a new thumbnail image size. I used a plugin to regenerate all WP thumbnails and it did regenerate jpg format thumbnails. BUT however your Smush plugin has no means of regenerating WebP images.

How do I make it regenerate WebP images?

    Thank you.

    Hello @impalerplm !

    Hope you’re doing well today!

For single images, you can check in Media >> Library in the list view – there will be a column with Smush data and some additional actions for the processing (Smush, Resmush etc.)

You can also cause a restart of the conversion process by visiting Smush >> Local WebP, Delete WebP files and Bulk Smush the images again.

    Warm regards,
    Pawel

Thank you, indeed I am ??

I have tried but deleting WebP files but then when I went to Bulk smush, I was unable to initiate a mass smushing of all the images again. There is simply no option. It says images are optimized and that is that. Would you mind testing it out yourself and see if you can really initiate this resmushing as you have described?

    Hi @impalerplm,

I checked and confirmed that deleting WebP files will help re-start the conversion process.

Do you have any server-side cache enabled? Please clear all the cache and click on the “Re-Check Image” button at Smush >> Bulk Smush. I hope that helps.

Please let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

No I dont have any server side cache turned on. However I can’t wait for webP to become core and drop this plugin at all. Sorry.

    Hi @impalerplm and @justinrogers

I’m sorry to hear about the troubles but I also need to apologize for causing some confusion here.

You are asking about Smush Local WebP feautre which is Pro feature, even though there’s an option to try it for free (via a free trial) available. We cannot provide any support for Pro features (neither paid nor trial) here as it’s against this forum’s rules.

Once again I sincerely apologize but for any assistance regarding this, please create a support ticket at our site here:

    and we’ll assist you there.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
