• A hacker blocked my access to my site [Moderated: Redundant link removed] and apparently put some malware on it! My developer is not cooperating and is asking for a high amount of money to resolve this issue.

I need help accessing my site and regaining access!
My domain is hosted by squarespace. I reached out but wasn?t sure if they can help.

What shall I do? I been locked out for almost 10 days!
Also, how can I remove the malware and start having back ups for my site in case this happens again?

    Carefully follow this guide.

When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures and start backing up your site.

    Hi

    I tried the steps.
The virus scan says there is no malware on my site.
If you now go on https://www.kokovalhawaii.com though, it says its not secure and leads to a scam site selling medical equipment in a foreign country!

My developer who has handled everything for me is trying to scam me and not releasing any information.

I only have access to my host, which is squarespace but when I reached out they said I have a custom name server. Whatever that means.

I don?t know what else to do!

Is there an active accoun with you guys besides the wp-admin access that you see on your end?? that maybe was accessed by my developer?

I just created one yesterday to be able to post this question but isn?t there another access once you start first a website?? My developer maybe never shared with me and now he is blocking it?

I think you’re misunderstanding things here. WordPress is both built and supported for free by volunteers who do this on their free time, so we don’t have any phone support here.

We don’t actually run your site or have any form of control over it in any way. So *you* must resolve your problem, because nobody here can do anything to your site, in any way whatsoever.

Please try https://jobs.wordpress.net/ or https://jetpack.pro/ and do not accept any hire offers posted to these forums.
