The only info showing in an .htaccess file for a site I maintain is the basic WP stuff and some 301’s I added last year. At some point I obviously over-wrote the .htacess, thinking iThemes would add what it needed when I updated its settings. But there is nothing from iThemes in the file and I’m worried that my site isn’t secure. Is there a way to force iThemes to write a new .htacess file with all its information?

    Thanks!

Does anyone have suggestions about this? I really would prefer to not have to uninstall/reinstall the whole plugin to deal with this. I think that is not best practice. Surely there is a way to regenerate the .htaccess file? Otherwise, the site is compromised, yes?

I think you have 2 options:

    1. Get the current server rewrite rules from the Advanced Server Config Rules module and then manually copy/paste them into the .htaccess file.

    2. Change a setting for which you know the plugin would (normally) write something to the .htaccess file and then Save Settings (If the plugin is actually able to write to the .htaccess file …).
The first 5 settings in the System Tweaks module all write to the .htaccess file.

That did the trick. Thank you very much. I had tried changing settings, but obviously I hadn’t changed ones that affected the .htaccess. This time I changed one of the ones you suggested and that “refreshed” my .htaccess file. Thank you!
