• I have an share hosting account with inmotion hosting and I’m running my wordpress magazine blog on it. My hosting company sent me an email in which they said that my blog using extra CPU than normal.

They said in their email that “The issue with with ‘convert’ processes that are running at extremely high CPU. This is from part of your site that uses ImageMagick, probably to do some kind of image conversion.”

I have installed WP Super Cache plugin and stopped posting articles and blogs on my website since 20 Dec 2010.

How can I reduce my wordpress CPU usage? Please help me.

    Thanks

  • As far as I know, WordPress doesn’t use ImageMagick, unless you’ve installed some sort of plugin that does so. WordPress uses the GD library instead of ImageMagick. At least, that’s my understanding.

According to my hosting provider their CPU can’t handle my wordpress plugin Viva-ThumbZoom located in /home/mygroup/public_html/us/wp-content/plugins

    Error: 17139 mygroup 20 0 401m 9780 1768 R 140.5 0.0 0:04.33 convert -density 150 -background #FFFFFF -thumbnail x113 -gravity north -crop 150×113+0+0 +repage -quality 95 -interlace line /home/tow

I don’t know why this plugin taking that much CPU resource.
