When someone attempts to visit a page that doesn’t exist on my site, such as a post that has been deleted, it gives a white page with this:

    ???? class=”????????yle=”float: none; margin: 0 auto;”> ???? class=”title”>

How can I fix this so it instead redirects back to the category or alternatively the homepage?

    Thanks.

  • Might be that the 404.php file in your theme is mucked up and it’s showing the fragments of html. Get a fresh copy of your theme and replace the 404 file and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks. That was it. And I found the 404 redirect plugins.
