    I do not recommend redirecting all your 404s.

    A 404 is the correct response for a page that doesn’t exist and has never existed. A 301 is the correct response for a page that has moved.

    We are interested in usability and this is an entirely valid request.
    It is fair if you do not recommend redirecting all 404s, but the final choice should still rest with the web designer or admin.
