• Hi guys,
    I was working on one of my websites, and all of a sudden I’ve been asked to log me again in all my tabs (all the websites).
    When logged back, I could not reach the multisite panel again!

    It seems I’ve been downgraded to “simple admin”, without the multisite access.
    I’ve tried to change the values of my admin in the phpmyadmin panel, and since then I cannot even log in… I’ve tried resseting passwords and so on, nothing.

    my other logins doesn’t work on my network website and all my logins (including the super admin) works on all other child sites…And when I’m with my super admin I can see and navigate through the list of the websites in the left panel, but when I choose the network site I’m logged of.
    So my only access is phpmyadmin…
    Any ideas?

  • If you change a super admin username for some very good reason in wp multisite, for example brute force hacking attempts, directly in the database users table then you need to change it in the site_meta table as well. The meta_key is site_admins. If you changed “joe” to “iamjoe” then a:1:{i:0;s:3:”joe”;} becomes a:1:{i:0;s:6:”iamjoe”;}

    The length of name is also recorded “s:3” so that has to change as well.

    I don’t know how this could happen…
    But I’ve tried on another computer and it worked fine!
    Then I came back to mine and tried with other explorer and it worked…
    (although it doens’t work with a ctrl+MAJ+N).

    So… alternative solution, if anybody face it…
