How to Recover WordPress site design after domain expired?

  • My domain account was stolen by a business partner who changed the passwords and went AWOL, and the domain eventually expired due to this. The domain (Namecheap) expired, but the hosting (Hostinger) is still active for four more years.

    How do I transfer the design to a new domain?

  • Contact your hoster. They can provide you with a backup of your website. You can then restore it on another hosting and publish the web again under a new domain.

    And please remove the URL. It is potentially dangerous.

    I have removed the URL.

    But the Topic Starter may still want to remove this potentially dangerous URL from their profile.

    Hostinger has a copy website tool that you can use in this case. You would need to add a new domain to the hosting plan, and then from the management of the old website, you can go to Files -> Copy website. There, you can select the new domain name and copy the old website to it (all of the URLs / database will be changed to the new domain name automatically).
