  • yes, i think that is what she is trying to do…she wants the vertical lines to stop at the bottom of her content and then have the horizontal line go under her content…then the google stuff will be OUTSIDE of that stuff, all by itself, but still not technically below the footer….

thaKing: No, she needs the google ads to be outside of the footer div, or they will show up above the horizontal line, because that is the background image for the footer div.

So she needs a “subfooter” div for the ads. The div is required because she needs to eliminate the background from it, or it will get the default body background image (like it is right now).

Whether the ads are in footer.php or some other file doesn’t make much difference though. You could put the div anywhere and force it to be positioned to the bottom of the page for all that it really matters.

i was referring to the footer.php file…you are correct about all of what you’ve said…what i meant by “not going below the footer” was that the footer.php file ends with closing body and html tags…to put it below the footer.php file would not be correct…that’s what i was referring to….

thanks for all your help everyone. i’ve given up on getting this to work as i envision it, and instead put the google ad code within the thin black box. not visually what i wanted, but at this point i dont think the way i envision it will work.

thanks for your attempted help, all.
