    Hi Peter,

First I want to thank you for developing this great menu plugin!
I am facing a problem. When I scroll down all the way to the bottom of the menu on mobile, the background (body) starts to scroll. That looks a bit strange. Is there a way how I can prevent the body from scrolling when the menu is open?

I am a WP-beginner but I know how to add custom CSS and JS & HTML using a plugin.

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Marco

    Hi Marco,

There is a Disable Background Scrolling option available on the Pro version of the plugin.

Unfortunately doing it yourself with CSS and JavaScript is quite complex but if you want to give it a go there are a few tutorials online with different methods.

    I hope that helps

    Hey Marco,

You are more than welcome. If you need any help please let me know.

    Hello there,
First of all, thank you for sharing with us your plugin.

I have the same issue described above, using another push-menu plugin. I am planning to buy the Pro version of Responsive Menu but before that, I have a question if you don’t mind,

Is there any possibility to fix in place the body background images content (at menu-open) like the header for example is acting, preserving the scroll possibility and not using Body lock? I am interested to still apply the scroll but ONLY to the active links, not on background images content / header/ footer, etc tht should be fixed elements.

    Here is the test link

Just scroll at the bottom of the page, try to access the last links, and after that open the menu and you’ll see the issue (background images going up):
    Before
    After
    Thank you in advance,

    Hey there,

I’m not quite sure I understand the issue and those image links don’t work.

Are you asking if you can only lock specific parts of the background from scrolling but allows other parts to still scroll?

    Please advise

    Peter

    Hello there,
Yes, thank you for your fast feed-back.

    The short version:
I am interested to have the whole scene as is, like we have it when the menu is closed, and after the menu is open, the background content to not going up at scrolling which doesn’t happen with the menu closed.

I know that there could be some limitation in some cases but I suppose that as long as the header is not going up at scroll with the menu open, it’s a good sign and I hope to exist a workaround other that locking the entire body (scroll lock).
    I appreciate it,

You have to mouseover the last links (not to click, just mouseover), to have the background images loaded, see the position of the background images and after that, open the menu; u’ll see the background how will be shifted up without reasons.

I suppose that edge-ils-image-holder keep the background in place, position: fixed;already even if we use !important; that’s the tricky part …

I was wrong, the header is going up as well …
So, to recap: at menu open or close,
    – Header / footer fixed (not going up at scroll in menu-open)
    – Background scene (body) fixed (not going up at scroll in menu-open)
    – Everything else, acting in the same way at menu open like in menu close.

    Thank you,

    Hey there,

You can’t specify which items scroll and don’t scroll with my plugin unfortunately, it’s everything inside the body that will be affected.

If you want something that fine grained or custom, you would likely need to code it yourself.

My plugin offers the ability for the whole body to be locked, while the menu itself can be scrolled but nothing more.

    I hope that helps

    Peter

    Hello there,
Thank you for your feed-back. I got that, I’ll try to tweak the existing code starting from here for example:

    https://stackoverflow.com/a/49763914/4642215

How about Body_lock, will preserve also the header, footer, and all the elements in place fixed at PushMenu-open?
I am asking because, ShiftNav for example with this theme (in other theme it’s working), doesn’t apply the Body_lock; it will work ONLY if I disable Push effect, we have to use the Slide effect which is not the same thing, is not the desired effect.

Is there any possibility to try before buy this option (Body_lock) please into my theme?
    https://www.neuegrid.com/ilinks-shiftnavprep/

If you are able to make this happen using the Chrome console for example and to confirm with a screenshot will be great, I’ll purchase the pro version.

Body_Lock enabled should freez the body / header/ footer / all the page content at push-menu open, no scroll-y available; I suppose that we are talking about the same scenario.
    I really appreciate it,

    Hey there,

I’m not sure that StackOverflow link will work but you are more than welcome to try it out of course ??

I still don’t understand what it is you want to do really but yes if you are unable to get it working on your site I am more than happy to provide a refund for you.

    All the best

    Peter

    Hi,
It will be great because, being again in the stage to not be able to use the plugin at his full specs it’s not nice (Purchased pro version, as I already had with ShiftNav)

More than that, I am asking because I don’t want to be considered beyond Terms and conditions, I just want to see if the body lock will work in my theme and will produce the desired effect.

    Thanks,

    Peter Featherstone

    (@peterfeatherstone-1)

    Hey there,

That’s fine. If you submit a request via the contact form on my site after you have tried that would be great.

If it doesn’t work I will arrange a refund for you ??

    Peter

Damn, another Edge theme issue / Body lock, pretty much will not work.

I’ll decide and come back, thanks.
