How to prevent others from copying video files ?

Do you know which video hosting site has an option to disallow others to copy the video files ?

It can’t be done. It can be made difficult, but any video on the web can be copied…even the ones you have on Vimeo. I would suggest putting a copyright notice on the videos and maybe even a watermark to let people know you don’t want them to copy the videos, but trying to prevent it is futile.

Thanks for also pointing out to me that even in Vimeo it can be copied. Hmm … I really though in Vimeo it has an option to prevent it form being copied … looks like I was under a false sense of security.

I think your suggestion on watermark is a good idea. Which video hosting site has an option to put watermark on the copied video ?

Can I display my video without watermark but it will only be attached to the files if it being copied over ?

Don’t know about that, but you can add them yourself before uploading the video. I would put a title slide on the video with your information and a slide at the end. You could also include a non-intrusive watermark on the video as it plays similar to what YouTube does in the lower-right corner when you watch YouTube Videos.

Just make the watermark semi-transparent and place it in one of the corners of your video. Any good video editing software should allow you to do this.
