How to prevent background image from disappearing?

    First I want to say that I love this awesome theme! I’m using the version with a width of 1200px and a background image what looks great on my screen with a full HD resolution of 1920×1080.

    However, when I access the weblog on a smaller screen or resize the browser window, parts of the background image disappear. I want to avoid that, because the background image is a fundamental element of my overall design.

    I tryed it with padding: 0 18%; in the body section what on one hand prevented the background image from disappearing but on the other hand destroyed the responsive design.

    I would be very grateful if anyone could provide me a solution which prevents the background image from disapearing without destroying the responsive function.
