How to prefill the Name field with username

    Hello,

    I currently have CaptainForm 2.1.6 installed. In the patch notes it says “Functionality for prefilling form fields with details about the logged in WordPress user”.

    Is there somewhere a documentation on how to do this? I want to have a name field that is filled with the logged in user’s displayname or username automatically.

    The documentation will be live in the following days. Sorry for the delay.

    You can prefill form fields when inserting forms into pages/posts or into widgets. I will describe the first scenario.

    Go to the page where you want to embed the form, click on the CaptainForm icon in the content editor, select the form that you want to publish there and select the option ?Prefill form fields”. The form fields will load and you will be able to match them with various data items related to the user that is logged in. Click on Insert Form and the customized shortcode will be generated. When logged in users will access that page, their info will be used to populate the fields that you matched.

    (By the way, you can update the plugin to the 2.2 version, we released some nice improvements for popup forms.)
