How to post to another category and not display in default category

  • Hi
    Please can you advise how I can write a post that only publishes in a particular category. Currently my ‘Online Trading’ category is the default and I have another category called ‘Beginner Investing’. When I write a post to beginner investing, it displays in both categories. How can I have it only display in beginner investing category.

  • Uncheck the the “Online Trading” in the edit screen or when you write the post.

    Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I did uncheck ‘Online Trading’ category, but it still posts to both categories. Any ideas?

    Is the ‘Beginner Invsting’ perhaps a child category of ‘Online Trading’? In that case, all posts belonging to the first category will automatically also belong to the second, for obvious reasons.

    I have double checked and Beginner Investing is not a child category of Online trading. you are welcome to have a look at the categories: https://www.sharetradesecrets.com and let me know what you think. You will see a post – Forex – foreign currency trading, which is displaying in both ‘Online Trading’ and ‘Forex Trading’ category even though only the ‘Forex Trading’ category is selected.
