Ummm.. Excel is not like a “standard format” or anything, so the short answer is that you don’t do this.

The web and the rest of the internet are about standards. Export your chart to a standard image format, like GIF or PNG or something and then post that instead.

Thanks for the information. I tried to use a web page for the info (e.g. save excel sheet as web page) but it created some sort of bug with internet explorer. Every time I clicked the link, I got kicked out of internet explorer. So I ended up using a pdf file. NOT my first choice as I very much prefer to have the information available right in the blog post.

thx again and let me know if this changes…although I don’t go on the support area much.

Erin – this may be too late or there may be a more elegant solution to this now, but here’s how I’ve managed it. Select and copy your table in Excel. Then go to Live Writer (I’m using 1.0 in Beta) and select “Paste Special”, choose the “Keep Formatting” option. The table will paste just as it looks in Excel. It comes with a little too much html code but you can edit out rows etc. And it’s quick! I imagine other desktop blogposting clients can do similar things – I think Blogjet promised something similar. But this works.
