How to password protect a folder while wordpres is installed?

  • Hi everyone,

    I have installed wordpress on the root of my domain. I also have another folder in the root with a totally different script, I am trying to double protect this folder by adding cpanel password protection. Strangely wordpress gives me a 404 error page not found when I try to protect another forlder, is there a way around please?
