How to pass some wordpress data to a TinyMCE plugin

  • I want to make some ajax calls from a TinyMCE plugin that I am developing as a WordPress plugin. The ajax calls would include an API key. That key needs to be picked up from wordpress database. I am unable to figure out how to get the API key at the TinyMCE javascript plugin. I am new to WordPress. Googling could not find anything. Would appreciate help.
