    Hey!

I just wanted to ask some help or suggestions on how to handle posts with similar (near identical) titles? My website’s mostly about Top Lists, like ranking best characters or quotes, so it’s a bit difficult to optimize Yoast. Let me give a quick example:

Top 10 Breaking Bad Characters (Season 1)
Top 10 Breaking Bad Characters (Season 2)
    Etc. for other seasons.

So, how would I optimize the keyword/phrase that I don’t use the same one for each of them? Should I somehow make cornerstone content, everytime I create lists of something where I cannot optimize the keyword/phrase properly? I’m simply a bit confused on how to handle this situation, so all help is appreciated.

    Much love

  • Hi @thehergula,

Thank you for writing to us.

This is a hard question to tackle. Please know that we can give support for our plugin and its functionality, but do not give SEO advice. Quick notes:

    – If you’re making a page for every single one of those variants, we’d question how useful many of those pages are. Many are going to be thin/repetitive. We’d consider consolidating those by default (e.g., “Top 10 Breaking Bad Characters”, rather than season-specific pages).
    – Do good keyword, user and competitor research, and work out (the likely few cases) where it’s worth breaking out specific, individual pages to meet existing search demand.
