How to open category in content page or main page

    I have a complicated procedure would anyone care to help me? I want to have category listing of automotives,toys,cars etc.. on my front page

    My content will be in a widget. The widget will hold say for example advertisement banners that links to another site.

    I want this to happen:

    When I click on automotives it opens a page with the widget of advertisement but on the page i will still have my category and navigation bar. So pretty much any category I click that opens a page with widgets , still contain the category list and navigation bar.

    Can anyone show me how to do this? I am very new to wordpress step by step procedure will be greatly appreciated.
