How to only show post or page titles on front page, archives, search…

I only want to show the post titles on the home page (static front page), archives pages, category pages, and search result pages.

I would like just the title and nothing else to show. With an expand/collapse arrow next to the titles. So there is minimal vertical space between the titles. When user clicks expand arrow next to the title, the content (or excerpt if there is one) will be displayed.

I want to apply this site-wide with the code integrated into the theme template, so I do not manually have to put the [expand]…[/expand] shortcode in every post entry.

What’s the best way to go about doing this?
