How to noindex specific author profile pages?

On our website, we customized the author profile pages. Each author has his/her own “introduction” text etc, the typical author article archive is reduced to the two latest blog article. Optimizing all this stuff turned those profile pages into (organic) traffic bringers.

As usual, authors come, authors go. For the authors who left, we’d like to keep the author pages but noindex them. With Yoast, I only can exclude the “ex-authors” from sitemap but don’t set meta robots on noindex.
