How to NOINDEX categories WITHOUT plugins

  • I have already done the whole robots.txt disallow, but since I have links to my categories page I think google will still index those categories. I already know how to used the custome field “Publish” to noindex individual posts and pages, but I don’t know how to noindex categories.

    If anyone knows I would appreciate the help.

    I’m thinking I could maybe paste the whole meta noindex nofollow right into the category page template, but I’m not sure if that would be a bad idea.
