• I want to move my old Media directory from /uploads/ folder into date-based folder, let’s say into /uploads/2014/11/ folder.
I’ve already reenable the “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” option.

How to safely move all of images files include the metadata and the Featured Images without breaking the post?

    Hai

Take a backup first – open your cpanel – then file manger – login your wp path – there is a option in cpanel copy or move – just give your right path then move.

After moved go to mysql db – change the site name in wp-option.

Thanks sprakas5 for your suggestion but I don’t have cpanel, I have FTP only and I have too many images (more over 1500 images).
The problem is when I move all of images under /uploads/ folder into /uploads/2014/11/ folder then it will break the metadata on wp_options and wp_postmeta table.
How to update the metadata on that tables? and how to sure if the images on new folder will be correctly showing on Media Library?
