• I have created a WP site in a sub-directory (www.backyardbuzzers.com/wordpress) in order to preserve the splash page until the site was ready to launch. We are now ready, can someone please help me navigate how to move the site from the sub-directory to the root… (www.backyardbuzzers.com)??

    Thanks so much!

    Thanks Esmi,

I have seen Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory, however, I’m having difficulty finding the section that applies to me – the first section highlights how to create a sub directory, but I want to go back to the root. Is it really the same process?

    Is Moving_Wordpress more relevant?

    I’m a little dense about this…

    thanks

Please follow the first link I posted above. It will take you to the correct section for your needs.

Thanks! I’m getting closer. I can’t find the .htaccess file. I’m using cyberduck, have hidden files turned on and I’m not using a windows server. Could you help point me to where that file is? Thanks so much!
