• I’m tired of the problems related to blogs.dir and redirects in exampe.com/files/
    I’m using nginx and do not want to deal with every time configs and settings under the outdated model of unthinking media file placement.

    I want to move all media files to uploads/sites/ and forget about it forever! How?
    If I tried delete blogs.dir wordpress always raised this zombie. Where is switcher for turn off this stupid atavism?

    Yes. I switched out my two networks a couple of years ago. Much less work than dealing with all the little issues that come up.

    If you are not so technically inclined, know that BackupBuddy does export & import single sites out & in of multisite. It’s in beta (has been for years, and probably always will be), but it does work most of the time. That might also be a way to migrate one site at a time and avoid all the db work.

    Hi
    I installed NextCellent Gallery 1.9.31 on WPMU and no problems there. When I was back on the site to start uploading pictures I got a message saying that the databases needed an upgrade and there was no way getting around thar.
    The result was:
    Upgrade NextCellent Gallery

    Upgrading database…
    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Could not find NextCellent Gallery database tables, upgrade failed!' in /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/upgrade.php:94 Stack trace: #0 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/upgrade.php(142): ngg_upgrade() #1 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/upgrade.php(109): doing_update_output('https://www.styr...') #2 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/class-ngg-admin-launcher.php(128): nggallery_upgrade_page() #3 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/class-ngg-admin-launcher.php(148): NGG_Admin_Launcher->show_upgrade_page() #4 [internal function]: NGG_Admin_Launcher->show_menu('') #5 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-includes/plugin.php(525): call_user_func_array(Array, Array) #6 /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-admin/admin.p in /home/styrso/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/admin/upgrade.php on line 94

    line 94 in upgrade.php
    	throw new Exception( __( 'Could not find NextCellent Gallery base tables, upgrade failed!', 'nggallery' ) );

    As far as I can see there are 3 dbs: wp_ngg_album, wp_ngg_gallery and wp_ngg_pictures

    The gallery path is the default setting – wp-content/blogs.dir/%BLOG_ID%/files/

    I have used NextCellent on another single webpage domain without any problems for about a year now.
    Why doesn’t it work here?? All help would be very much appreciated!
    styrso.nu/wp/bastu – very much under development
