how to move from dev to production server install

Hi,
I began creating a new blog/site 2 weeks ago on my home development server machine – little did i know how addictive it was going to be now i’ve virtually finished the site and would like to transfer to a shared hosting server.

I’m used to building sites by hand using open source tools ftp etc – and wondered how easy it will be to transfer the site to the new online server, retaining all the links and DB tables etc.

I’m fairly conversant manually uploaded tables from my localhost machine to work within cPanel provided by web hosts.

Is it an Easy or hard operation or should i just recreate the installation from scratch on the production server.
