How to modify get_media_items?

  • On Gallery tab, I want to add a column of “include” checkbox. The media items output is generated by get_media_items function in media.php. This function doesn’t provide a filter to hook up.
    I remember somebody said somewhere on this issue… “you can copy the function and make a filter …”, but there was no detailed instruction and I forgot what exactly he said.
    Could anybody help pointing a way to modify this function?
