    Hello,

I have few questions, for which I would like to request you to kindly answer pointwise, with as much details as you can. So as to understand it better.

    1. I read one of the Help page on setting up Feeds. On below page, in point 3, it was mentioned about How to Map the Categories with Google Merchant’s categories.

    https://adtribes.io/setting-up-your-first-google-shopping-product-feed/

However, I am unable to find any such setting anywhere in the Plugin. Can you please suggest where should I find the relevant setting. And how can I map the product categories to that of Google Merchant’s categories.

    2. Is there any way we can Create New product feed from the Plugin, by adding Multiple Countries at once. As the pricing and Shipping price is SAME for few of the Countries.
that way it will help us to avoid creating multiple feeds.

    3. Or else, does it require to create Multiple Feeds for each Country, where we want it to be visible in Google Merchant center. Please suggest and guide on this.
    How shall we approach.

    4. We are selling in Multiple Countries like India (Home Country), USA, UK, Major European Countries, Australia, Canada.
In this case, can you please suggest how shall we Create Product feeds. And what is the best way to do that.

    5. Once after creating the feed using the Plugin, we SAVED it.
However, I am nut sure, what to do after that. Will it start working automatically.
Means, as the Sitemaps have already been submitted to Google Search Console (earlier Webmasters), and the feeds link will be fetched from there also, and will be linked to Google Merchant automatically.

Or else, do we have to Add or link the feed (from the Plugin), to Google’s Merchant center some other way. If so, can you please suggest, How

    Regards

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    With regards to your questions:

    1. When you have selected Google Shopping as a channel you will automatically come by the page where you can map your WooCommerce categories to those of Google. It s this page: https://adtribes.io/cascading-mother-child-category-mapping-for-google-shopping/

    2/3. In your Google Merchant Center you can tell what countries to use for your feed. When the currency, language and shipping costs are the same for all countries this is allowed by Google. Bear in mind though that from a feed optimisation point of view it is not advisable to have one feed for multiple countries. If product A is performing really well in one country but very poorly for another country you are advertising in than you might want to remove that product from your feed. That however would be a shame for the country it is performing well in. Hence, our advice would be to use 1 feed per country;

    4. One different feed per country

    5. No, you are definitely not done after just creating the feed. You need to connect your feeds to your Google Merchant Center. See paragraph 7 and on from this blog post: https://adtribes.io/setting-up-your-first-google-shopping-product-feed/

    Hope this helps?

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. Can you please further suggest and clarify on below ones-

    1. But, unfortunately, I am not getting that. I installed the latest version.
Can we get that Categories option, once after creating the Feed (project) also.
Means, by going to Manage Feeds > Project settings (gear icon).
If so, then on which Page or Step. I tried, but I still could not find that option. Can you please guide.

PS: I found that the General feed settings of that particular project is showing as “Custom Feeds”
Could this be the reason. If so, how can we change it from Custom feed to Shopping option.

    1. b). Also, what is the difference here, in between Google Shopping and Custom Feed.
Which one is better and on what aspects.

    2. Do you mean to say, whether we choose USA (in General Settings > Country), then also, we can use it for Multiple Countries from Google Merchant. And the Feed will work for all those Countries, if set in Google Merchant.

2.b) But, I think, in Google Merchant also, we could Only select One Country at a time.
Can we select multiple Countries in Google Merchant also, within just one single Feed.
    Please suggest.
If so, this will avoid extra work and to have Multiple feeds with your Plugin.

    4, 5. OK
Thank you. Will check that option.

    6. One thing. we already have Google Merchant account and prior to installing your plugin, we used the Automatic feeds system (that is within Google Merchant itself), by linking our site.
And that has already Approved Most of the existing products. (few Disapproved due to Variations, Shipping in multiple countries)

    So, in that case-
a). What if we create a Feed using your plugin and add that in Google Merchant. Will that create Duplicate entries in Google Merchant.
b). Will that effect the existing listings, that were already Approved in Google Merchant, somehow or other.
c). Or else, shall we create and upload or link the feeds (created from your Plugin), directly without any need to worry about it.

PS: we cannot delete the existing product listings that already got approved and are there in Google Merchant. As many of these are already showing in 1st rank in Google Shopping tab (within Google Search), with specific keywords. And we do not want to loose their ranking and results

d). Also, we are using Shipping plugin (by Bolder). And are having variable price for India and few selected Countries.
Will the Feed (created using your plugin), automatically set the shipping prices for each product for each Specific Country automatically.
And it won’t throw any errors too, on Google Merchant.
As Currently, Merchant is throwing error for shipping charges for few of the Countries only. Probably due to this reason only.

e). Similarly, for variable product. Will it automatically create separate link and submit to Google Merchant, from within the feeds, for each respective variation product.

    Please suggest.

    Hi,

    With regards to your questions:

    1a. Yes, like mentioned a Google category mapping is only there when you have selected Google Shopping as channel. You seem to have selected “custom feed”, than there will be no such feature to map your categories to those of Google;

    1b. They are completely different. You need to make sure to select the channel for which you are creating a product feed. So when you want to advertise your products on Google Shopping, you select the Google Shopping channel, when you want to advertise on Facebook you select the channel Facebook. You have to do so because every channel has its own unique fields and features (such as a category mapping);

    2. Like mentioned: When you select multiple countries in your GMC you can use one feed for multiple countries (when currencies and prices are the same). However, we advise you to use a separate feed per country for optimisation purposes.

    6. You need to remove the products that have been added previously otherwise you will indeed get duplicates which will result in disapprovals. Next to that it is advisable to remove those previously added products anyhow as they won’t get updates anymore through your previous plugin.

6d. The plugin will only add those shipping costs for the country you created the feed for. So lets say that when you configured your feed you selected the USA as country, the plugin will than add only the USA shipping costs and not that of other countries.

6e. I think you are referring to product variations and not to the parent variable product (as parent variable products will never be in feeds). The individual product variations all have unique URL’s linking directly to the product variation.

Assuming the issue at hand has been resolved and our support is no longer required I will close this topic for housekeeping reasons now.

Do not hesitate to reach out to us again in-case you need our help again.
