How to MANUALLY update the database from 2.7 to 2.7.1 ?
-
Hello,
My database has recently been through a huge plugin-generated expansion, and weights now around 20 MB when it is uncompressed.
With that size of a DB, the automatic wordpress update from 2.7 to 2.7.1 failed (I will precise this is the new upgrade built-in version 2.7, I’m not using the former update plugin).
I wonder : is it possible for me to MANUALLY update the database to make it 2.7.1 compatible ? And how ?
I do not have root acccess to the sql server, but I have database owner priviledges in phpmyadmin, and I’m already used to performing sql requests, to backing up and restoring tables. If you’re curious about my precise problem… Precisely, it stayed frozen at the “updating database” line for hours, and all pages of my blog, admin included, displayed the maintenance page. I had to manually restore my database with phpmyadmin and reupload the 2.7 core files.
My database being too large to be handled in one shot by phpmyadmin (I have no access to the phpmyadmin .ini settings unfortunately), I had to manually split my sql database into smaller chunks, one per table, and the 3 largest tables (ratings, posts and comments) took several attempts to be successfully loaded.
So, if possible, I wish to avoid having to reupload once again my database backup, I REALLY would prefer to manually update my database ??Thanks if you can help,
Best regards,Sabin
