  • It seems you can’t assign badges manually yet, this option will come in a future update I think as the plugin creator mentionned it in a post.

Manual adjustment by admin means (I am 99% sure) that you manually give points to users on their profile page in wp-admin (in users list>edit>points tab).

    Hi Natcha16.

The “Manual Adjustment” requirement for a badge referrs to the “Manual Adjustment” action you as an admin can do. When you manually adjust a users balance in the admin area (on the Users page), this adjustment is logged under the reference “Manual Adjustment”.

So if you want you can create a badge for users who had their balance manually adjusted x number of times or for x number of points. However, it has nothing to do with manual assignments of badges (which as Doremdou correctly pointed out is not supported).

Each time a user gains / loses points, this adjustment is logged under a unique reference. These references help us keep track of how and for what a user gained points and make it easy for us to for example add up all point gains for ie. “Logging in”.

These references is what you see in the dropdown menu when you add/edit a badge.

So as an example, when a user gains points for logging in to your website, the points are logged under the reference “logging_in” while when a user buys items in e.g. WooCommerce it is logged under the reference “woocommerce_payment”.

You can always award a badge via script if you want but there is no manual assignment of badges since badges are based on your users history. No history = no badge.
In 1.6 I will however add in the option for manual awarding of badges.

very intelligent system of points – thank you for this.
i want to create a system of awarding points for certain things that a user does. for some users who have helped in some ways for the site – i want that the admin can give some points as per his choice. this should show on his profile page – and also display a badge if it is over the limit for that badge. how can this be done ?
i gave some people these points – but the badge does not show.
is it to be shown by a widget or some special code in the template.
    pls advise

    Hi.

When an administrator manually adjusts a users balance in the user area, these changes (assuming he selects to add a log entry as well with the adjustment) are all saved under the “manual” reference in the log.

When you create a badge, you can select for which instance this badge is to be awarded, so you would select “Manual Adjustment” in the drop down menu for your badge and then set the amount of times a user must receive a manual adjustment or the total amount of adjustments to get the badge.

Note however that as an admin you can select to just adjust a balance without adding a log entry in which case no badge can ever be awarded for that change since there is no log of it ever happening.

In version 1.6 you will be able to manually award badges to users by editing their profile in the admin area. You could then create any number of badges that you manually award out as you see fit.
