The meaning of this field is not clear. How does it work, taking into account the fact that in the global settings all free vacancies are posted for a period of 10 days? How should the employer fill in this field? Can it be left blank? If left blank, what are the consequences?

  • Hi @triptikon,

The Closing Date field will overrule the global setting, so if an employer fills that in it will use that date. If they leave it blank it will default to the global setting that you have.

@michaelnutt then why is it called “Job List Expiration Date”? Can it be renamed in “Expiration Date”? If yes, please, say how

    Hi @triptikon,

I’m sorry, I got some of the fields confused.

When adding a job from the WP-Admin page it has the Listing Expiry Date and the Closing Date. The Listing Expiry Date is when the job listing will no longer be visible on the site for new applicants to view. This is automatically filled in by your global setting and this option is not visible when users post a job from the front end of your site.

The Closing Date is added by the Application Deadline plugin, if you have that it will prevent new applicants from applying to a job after that date, but the listing will still be visible if it hasn’t expired yet.

I hope that clarifies things for you.

For changing what the fields are listed as, this page has some details on setting that up:
