• Hello,

I dearly apologize if this has been asked already, but I could not find it.

I currently have a few wordpress blogs (all for separate domains), and I plan on starting many more soon (at least 6, all in the same niche). What I realized about wordpress is that its plugins get updated ALL the time. For example, If I come back to the wordpress plugins page after a month, just about EVERY plugin has been updated, and it’s quite time consuming to update every blog manually.

How do I go about managing all major wordpress settings and plugins only once for all specified blogs? Updating up to 10 blogs seperately can be quite the time-consuming challenge. All the blogs are on the same server, but different domain names. I saw something about mu.wordpress.com, but I think this is for same-domain blogs only.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • WordPress MU will be *easier* to maintain, but it’s a whole other beast especially if you aren’t well versed in WP stand alone.

Here’s what you ultimately want: https://bui4ever.com/web-itecture/wordpress_mu_with_domain_mapping/

There is no way to do any of it with WordPress proper; each blog is completely self-contained and must be managed separately.

You can install a single copy of WordPress MU, but you will need a healthy level of system administration privileges (and a decent level of system administration knowledge) to do it right.
