Hi, first your plugin is fantastic nut i have a question how to solve this issue:
i’m developing an italian biological food store with around 200 items and some items have particular VAT for example 10%.
I have installed your plugin and use standard vat and reduce vat with your plugin BUT i need to create a new VAT class for my 10% how i can manage with your plugin?
    I explain me better.
I suppose your plugin manages with well known UE data the standard and reduce VAT rates, but with custom rates i think that i should insert by hand right for each UE countries right?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi,

Tax classes aren’t a new feature from the plugin, and the plugin doesn’t add any new handling for them (it doesn’t need to) – they’re a core part of WooCommerce, which has a full set of features for that. See here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/

    Hi David,
thanks for reply maybe i not explain good what i ask to you
i know how to setup tax class on woo i need to know if i need in your plugin add manually
the value on related eu country the vat % relative to specif good.
if for example in italy cheese is a particular vat of 10%
suppose i create a test rates in woo and i go in the menu where in the footer i can add using your plugin the std or reduced tax, after that i have imported i suppose that i will to change country by country to relative vat about that product category for example cheese right?

I’m not entirely clear on the question you’re asking… are you asking about the “add digital VAT rates” button? You don’t want to press that for non-digital goods. It adds an entry for every country. That is only relevant for digital goods that have different VAT for each buyer’s country.

i refer to the buttonat the bottomunder taxes: add/update VAT rates EU

Yes, that’s the one I meant. It’s for adding per-country digital VAT rates. Don’t use it if you’re not selling goods that are under that regime. It’s just a convenience feature for quickly adding 28 different rates at once. But if you’re selling cheese, there’s only one rate, so you should just add your rates in the normal way.

yes ok now this part is clear but the core question is that i will must to find the correct rates for that type of good in each EU country right?

No, if it’s not digital goods, then it’s not under the variable-VAT regime; you should be charging just the Italian rate to all customers.

However – it is best to ask questions like “what rate should I charge?” to your accountant. I am neither an accountant nor a lawyer. My knowledge of EU VAT law is not comprehensive, and comes with no guarantees. Every shop owner should consult with a local authority to know the correct VAT to charge on their goods.
