How to make two (or more) different categories

Hey all –

I’m turning what used to be just a blog with a single feed into something with different types of content. For example, instead of just recipes, now it’ll have recipes, plus decorating tips, plus lifestyle, etc. But I am new to wordpress and can’t quite figure out how to do it. I’m running the Pinboard theme – are there different functionalities with the different themes?
